Lambert-St. Louis International Airport Expects Increased Holiday Traffic

Officials urge Thanksgiving travelers to come early and be prepared.

Lambert-St. Louis International Airport (Lambert) officials said they expect a 10-15 percent daily increase in passengers each day through the Thanksgiving holiday. In its annual Thanksgiving travel forecast, AAA predicts 43.6 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home over the holiday, up just 0.7 percent from last year. The biggest single travel day of the holiday weekend for Lambert is projected to be the Sunday following Thanksgiving. Officials at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport are urging passengers traveling through the airport to show up early, be patient and prepared. Lambert-St. Louis International Airport Safety Tips for Thanksgiving Travel

Avoid having to throw out personal items or missing your flight due to a longer screening process at Lambert with these tips.

Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel times for U.S. airports, according to AAA. Lambert- St. Louis International Airport (Lambert) is no exception. In fact, Lambert expects to see a 10 to 15 percent daily increase in passengers each day through the holiday. What will be the busiest day at the airport? Nov. 25, the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Sundays are typically the busiest travel day of the week. Gas Prices Drop as Temperatures Rise

Prices could drop to as low as $2 per gallon.

If you’ve got a vacation planned in the near future, there’s good news for you: gas prices are going down. In fact, the per-gallon price has hit its lowest point this year—on average, about $3.10 per gallon in the St. Louis area. “The biggest trend on gasoline prices is the significant reduction in crude oil,” said Mike Right, AAA’s St. Louis-based Vice President of Public Affairs, noting that there has been about a 30 percent price-drop for crude oil since May. “To that, add the fact that inventories of both gasoline and crude oil in the US are quite high, and the demand continues to be very weak,” he said. “We have an abundant supply and an anemic demand—so you can only expect the prices to decline.” To get the latest gas prices for …
