Josiah Williams was driving while intoxicated on I-270 at Dorsett Road, according to a court document.
A South County man faces his third impaired driving charge since 2003 following a traffic stop Interstate 270 at Dorsett Road in Maryland Heights. Josiah W. Williams, 32, of the 9500 block of Fredericksburg Court in Crestwood, was charged March 21 with driving while intoxicated as a persistent offender. A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper pulled Williams over at 11:04 p.m. June 21 on Interstate 270 after he changed lanes back and forth abruptly without signaling, according to a court document. The trooper reported that he smelled a strong alcohol odor and saw that Williams had glass and bloodshot eyes. Williams did poorly on a sobriety test and a Breathalyzer test indicated his blood-alcohol content was 0.133 percent. Williams …

Jesse Finney, who is trained as a boxer and mixed martial arts fighter, stopped a shoplifter last week during a trip to the grocery store.
A man stealing bottles of vodka from a Crestwood grocery store probably didn't imagine a professional kickboxer and mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter would thwart him on his way out the door. Jesse Finney said he headed to Schnucks in Crestwood around 7 p.m. on Dec. 21 to pick up some chocolate for his pregnant wife. As he neared the basket area, Finney noticed a female employee running after a man. “I didn’t know if he had robbed the place, or if he’d assaulted somebody, I just saw her. He was pushing her off,” said Finney, who lives in Crestwood and owns Finney’s MMA/All In 1 Fitness. Finney grabbed the man by the coat. Two men face criminal charges after police said they took a woman’s purse and cell phone during an armed robbery in the Dierbergs Market parking lot in Shrewsbury May 15. Curtis Edwards, 28, of the 200 block of Midway Avenue in Kirkwood, and Markele Prince, 17, both were charged with first degree robbery and armed criminal action. It’s the latest in a string of armed robbery charges against the two men, although others also were involved in hold ups in other areas. Edwards has been charged in four other armed robberies last May in St. Louis County. Prince faces two other first-degree robbery charges. In the Shrewsbury robbery, police said Edwards chose the victim in the Dierbergs parking lot, 7233 Watson Road, and drove a car up alongside …

Amie Koenen, the principal at St. Michael the Archangel School, will serve as the president of the new Catholic school system.
Affton's Seven Holy Founders parish school may soon join the consolidation planned for three other local Catholic schools. The new Holy Cross Academy school system will include students from Annunciation in Webster Groves, Our Lady of Providence in Crestwood and St. Michael the Archangel in Shrewsbury. Representatives from the three parishes announced that they were combining the schools last fall. Under the current plan, the St. Michael and Our Lady of Providence campuses will serve students in kindergarten through fifth-grade. The Annunciation campus will become the academy's middle school serving sixth- through eighth-grade students.
