Seven Holy Founders Parishioner Charged With Stealing from Concession Stand

Stacy Funke, 30, was charged March 5 with stealing more than $500.

A parishioner working the concession stand at Seven Holy Founders has been charged with stealing from the church.  Stacy Funke, 30, was working the game during a girls' basketball game, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.  Prosecutors charged Funke, of the 7100 block of Cheshire Lane, on March 5 with stealing more than $500. According to the Post, Funke was working the concession stand during a tournament on Dec. 2, 2012, when an envelope went missing from a cabinet inside the gym. Funke then confessed to police that she stole the envelope, containing about $840, according to court documen, using the money to pay outstanding bills and other family expenses. Bail was set at $7,500, the Post reports.

Man Assaults Mother, Takes Car, Crashes into Seven Holy Founders Building

The woman told police her son returned without the car and told her he ran into a building.

A 35-year-old man assaulted his mother, took her car keys, stole her car and later drove it into the former Seven Holy Founders School building in Affton Tuesday, police said. William Hoffee, 35, of the 4900 block of Fyler Avenue in South St. Louis, was charged Wednesday with second-degree robbery, leaving the scene of an accident and resisting arrest. St. Louis County Police said Hoffee assaulted his mother at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 9900 block of Pointe South Drive in the Concord area of South St Louis County. He then took her car keys and debit card and left in her vehicle, police said. He was driving on South Rock Hill Road near the Seven Holy Founders School at about 5 a.m. when the car left the roadway and struck the building…

Seven Holy Founders Approved as Third Holy Cross Campus

SHF will house K-5 classrooms for the parish school consolidation.

The addition of Seven Holy Founders to the Holy Cross Academy consolidation of schools at Annunciation in Webster Groves, Our Lady of Providence in Crestwood and St. Michael the Archangel in Shrewsbury has been approved by the St. Louis Archdiocese. SHF will be joining the new system as a third primary campus for the 2012-2013 school year. The decision was recommended by the Holy Cross Academy board of directors and leadership team and recently approved by St. Louis Archbishop Rev. Robert J. Carlson. Seven Holy Founders Hopes to Join Holy Cross Academy Consolidation

Amie Koenen, the principal at St. Michael the Archangel School, will serve as the president of the new Catholic school system.

Affton's Seven Holy Founders parish school may soon join the consolidation planned for three other local Catholic schools. The new Holy Cross Academy school system will include students from Annunciation in Webster Groves, Our Lady of Providence in Crestwood and St. Michael the Archangel in Shrewsbury. Representatives from the three parishes announced that they were combining the schools last fall. Under the current plan, the St. Michael and Our Lady of Providence campuses will serve students in kindergarten through fifth-grade. The Annunciation campus will become the academy's middle school serving sixth- through eighth-grade students.
