Walmart has a habit of pulling up stakes and leaving empty buildings behind. Check out what they did everywhere they went. They county hop, from one area to another as their TIF runs out. They will do the same to Shrewsbury. They will pack up in a few years leaving a large empty building no one wants.   more ›

Shrewsbury Police Blotter: $4K Coin Collection Stolen

The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Friday, June 15 A woman from Columbia, IL was arrested for driving while intoxicated at 10 p.m. after she drove her Chevy Equinox across a residential lawn and side and swiped a Toyota Sienna being driven west bound in the 7300 block of Weil Ave.  The suspect refused to provide a breath sample and she was issued a citation to appear in municipal court after she was released from jail. Sunday, June 17 Police were called to the 5300 block of Kenrick Parke Drive to investigate the theft of over $3,900 worth of collector coins stolen from a bedroom closet.  There was no forced entry into the condominium.  The theft took place sometime over the past 14 months.  Police are questioning cleaning personnel.
