Affton Men Nabbed Jewelry From South County Home, Police Say

Danijel Colic and Hajro Velic, of Affton, were charged Thursday with second-degree burglary and felony theft.

Two Affton men pulled over by St. Louis County Police Tuesday were found to have jewelry stolen in a burglary at a South County home earlier in the day, police said. A witness gave investigators a description of the men, St. Louis County Police said. Danijel Colic, 19, and Hajro Velic, 20, both of the 6700 block of Highland House Court in Affton, were charged Thursday with second-degree burglary and felony stealing. The two men are neighbors. St. Louis County Police said Colic and Velic entered a home in the 10900 block of Cosmos Drive, just south of Grant’s Farm. The two stole several pieces of jewelry, including pins, earrings, necklaces, a bracelet and a wrist watch, police said. The items were valued at a total of $800. A witness …

Seven Holy Founders Parishioner Charged With Stealing from Concession Stand

Stacy Funke, 30, was charged March 5 with stealing more than $500.

A parishioner working the concession stand at Seven Holy Founders has been charged with stealing from the church.  Stacy Funke, 30, was working the game during a girls' basketball game, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.  Prosecutors charged Funke, of the 7100 block of Cheshire Lane, on March 5 with stealing more than $500. According to the Post, Funke was working the concession stand during a tournament on Dec. 2, 2012, when an envelope went missing from a cabinet inside the gym. Funke then confessed to police that she stole the envelope, containing about $840, according to court documen, using the money to pay outstanding bills and other family expenses. Bail was set at $7,500, the Post reports.

Man Stole PlayStation From South County House While Resident Was Home, Police Say

St. Louis County Police said he sold a game system the same day it was reported stolen.

A South County man faces criminal charges in connection to entering a home and stealing a PlayStation game system Feb. 20 while the resident was home. James Nguyen, 19, of the 4100 block of Debra Court, was charged last Wednesday with first-degree burglary and misdemeanor theft. St. Louis County Police said Nguyen sold the PlayStation the same day it was reported stolen from the the 8300 block of Kammerer Avenue in South County. Nguyen told police he entered the home through an unlocked rear door and stole the game system. A resident was home during the burglary, police said. Bail was set at $5,000 for Nguyen. Former St. Louis County Police Officer Claimed Overtime He Didn't Work, Investigators Say

The officer would have received between $503 and $1,191 in overpayments, according to police.

A former St. Louis County police officer faces a stealing charge after being accused of reporting that he worked overtime when he didn’t actually work. Michael T. Wood, 38, of unincorporated South County in the Bella Villa area, was charged Friday with felony stealing. He resigned from the county police department Nov. 8. He worked in the North County precinct at 11815 Benham Rd. A St. Louis County Police internal investigation revealed that Wood submitted between 15 hours and 35.5 hours of fraudulent overtime claims between Sept. 14 and Feb. 17. That would have resulted in an overpayment of between $503 and $1,191, according to the probable cause statement. Police reported that Wood admitted to submitting at least 15 hours of overtime …

Affton Man Out on Bond Charged With Another Theft Related Crime

St. Louis County prosecutors are seeking to revoke his bond on a stealing and fraudulent use of a credit card after police said they found Gary Scaglione with a stolen laptop computer.

An Affton man faces a stealing charge after St. Louis County Police found he had property that was stolen in a burglary on the same day. Gary M. Scaglione, 30, of the 9900 block of Bunker Hill Drive, was charged Feb. 2 with receiving stolen property, a class C felony. St. Louis County Police pulled over a car at Interstate 55 and Bayless Avenue on Feb. 1 and found he had a Toshiba laptop that had been stolen a few hours earlier. Scaglione is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $50,000, cash only. Scaglione had been out of jail on a $5,000 bond for charges of stealing and fraudulent use of a credit card. Prosecutors made a motion Feb. 4 to revoke his bond on those charges after he was charged with receiving stolen property…

Petsmart Employee Stole Cash With Faked Returns, Police Say

The money was stolen between Jan. 16 and Feb. 16, 2012, according to Brentwood Police.

A Petsmart employee stole at least $500 in cash from the store by faking merchandise returns, Brentwood Police said. Mark Tyler, 39, of the 4400 block of Turquoise in the Affton area, was charged Jan. 25 with felony theft. Brentwood Police said Tyler worked for the Petsmart store in the Promenade, made fraudulent returns and kept the cash between Jan. 16 and Feb. 16. Bail for Tyler was set at $10,000. Pair Charged With Stealing $10,800 in Items From South County Home

St. Louis County Police said the two men stole a wedding ring set, other jewelry and two iPods.

Two men are accused of stealing items valued at $10,800 from a South County home Thursday in the Lakeshire area. St. Louis County Police said Andrew Von Feldt, 23, drove Jeffrey Putney, 24, around the neighborhood knocking on doors in attempt to break into unoccupied homes. Police said the two men entered a home in the 9900 block of Knollshire Drive  and stole a diamond wedding ring set, two iPods and jewelry. Putney, of the 10600 block of Meath Drive in South County, and Von Feldt, of Pevely, each were charged Friday with second-degree burglary and felony theft. Bail was set at $15,000 each for Putney and Von Feldt. Von Feldt also was charged Friday for receiving stolen property in a separate incident.  St. Louis County Police said he …

Woman Arrives Home to Find Stranger Carrying Her TV

St. Louis County Police arrested the man, who faces burglary and felony stealing charges.

A South County woman arrived home and walked into her living room Dec. 5 to find a stranger attempting to walk out with her television. William Payne Kehr, 21, of the 7900 block of Fleta Street in South County, was charged Dec. 6 with first-degree burglary and felony stealing. St. Louis County Police said Kehr had the television in his hands in the home in the 7700 block of Clevedon Street when the resident walked into her living room. The 36-inch LCD Samsung TV is valued at $650. Kehr lives about two blocks from the woman’s residence. He was being held in St. Louis County jail on Tuesday. Police: Man Caught on Camera, Charged with Stealing Meth Ingredient

Police said video surveillance captured the theft and helped identify the man.

A Eureka man was charged with stealing a bulk storage tank of anhydrous ammonia from a manufacturer in Shrewsbury. Robert K. Theiss, 41, of the first block of White Doe Court in Eureka, was charged Monday with theft of anhydrous ammonia by storage tank, a class A felony. Shrewsbury Police said Theiss was captured on video surveillance at about 5:38 a.m. Sept 3 stealing the storage tank from Carr Lane Manufacturing, 4200 Carr Lane. He was identified on the video, arrested and confessed to the theft, police said. Anhydrous ammonia is used in the illegal manufacture of methamphetamine. Affton Teen Stole $4,000 in Jewelry, Sold to Gold Buyer, Police Say

St. Louis County Police said the burglary in the 8700 block of New Hampshire was Sept. 14.

An Affton teenager is accused of breaking into a home, stealing and selling jewelry in a Sept. 14 incident. Devin Brower, 18, of the 5300 block of Willard Avenue in Affton, was charged Wednesday with second-degree burglary and felony stealing. St. Louis County Police said the resident came home for lunch Sept. 14 and discovered several pieces of jewelry, with total value estimated at $4,000, had been stolen from the home in the 8700 block of New Hampshire. Police said they discovered the jewelry had been sold to a gold buyer in the city of St. Louis. Brower was arrested and accused of the burglary and theft.
