Good Samaritan, Not Thief, Picks up Motorcycle on Highway 44

A reportedly stolen motorcycle in Shrewsbury was actually picked up by a good Samaritan, and was on its way to being reunited with its owner.

A red 2002 Kawasaki motorcycle was reported stolen from westbound Interstate 44 near Shrewsbury Avenue on May 29 at 3:30 p.m., the Shrewsbury Police Department reported last week.

The owner of the motorcycle said he was involved in an accident on May 26 and he left it on the side of the highway. When he returned on May 29, the motorcycle was missing, and he reported it as stolen to Shrewsbury police.

The police provided an update on Friday.

Police say a man from Kirkwood found the motorcycle on the side of the highway and collected it so it wouldn't get stolen. The Good Samaritan used social media to find the owner. On Wednesday, June 5, a week after the man's accident, the motorcycle was reunited with its owner.
